How To Prevent A Cracked Screen

I think that nearly everyone with an expensive gadget like an iPhone worries about getting a cracked screen now and again. When devices such as these cost a lot of money, it’s really not nice to have one that can’t be used. So many of us depend on these for checking emails, buying items online and generally browsing the web on the move. With that in mind, you should try to consider everything possible to prevent getting a cracked screen on these gadgets. I’ll outline some of the things which you can do to stop your screen from getting damaged:

  • Covers/Cases – This is probably the most obvious one, but you may be surprised how many people don’t bother getting a cover for their device as they think it ruins the style of the device. Now, this really isn’t true since you can get some covers or cases that actually makes it look better in my opinion, but anyway, I’d rather have a device that looks a little worse but still has it’s screen in full working order rather than a stylish device with a cracked screen! But maybe that’s just me? The great thing about cases is that they are really cheap, so you don’t have an excuse not to have one! I’d personally recommend purchasing a cover or case on the first day that you get your new shiny device. And as another form of protection, you should also buy a screen protector, but these often come with a new cover anyway, if not, they only cost a couple of dollars in shops, or even cheaper online.

  • Pockets – Believe it or not, the way in which people put their phone/mp3 player in their pocket actually can change whether you will get a cracked screen or not. You should always try to put your device into your pocket in a way that the screen is not facing outwards. So lets say you walk into something that’s quite sharp, instead of it hitting in to the screen of your device and cracking it, instead it’ll just hit the back of it. Even though it may cause damage hitting the back of it, the chances are that it won’t be as bad as a damaged screen and as well as this it should be cheaper to get repaired if you need to get it repaired.

  • Playing Games – With many games these days needing you to move your device in order to control characters and so on, you should try to remember to be careful when doing this. This is even more important to note when you let a child play games on your device, as they may easily let it drop on the floor and you’ll be left with an unusable device since the screen will more than likely crack.

  • Insurance – While insurance may not directly prevent your device from getting a cracked screen, it can really help if it ever happens to you. This means that even if you do get a broken screen, you can get it repaired within a couple of days in most cases so you won’t suffer too much! It may cost you some money, but it’s well worth the piece of mind to some people.
